COLCPE received $1147.
There were 2 resolutions and 16 constitutional amendments were proposed.
I missed the resolutions for a funeral so I have no idea what the outcome of those were; however, of the 16 amendments proposed,
15 were wither defeated or withdrawn while one had some success. That amendment is as follows:
Constitution Proposal
Article 4, Section 1:
Change to read: The revenue of this Association shall be derived from a per capita tax of twenty-five cents ($.25) per pay period,
six dollars and fifty cents ($6.50) per annum, for each active member and associate member, payable through payroll deduction.
Branches will have the dues deducted by the NALC National Secretary-Treasurer and it will be reimbursed to the Ohio State Association
or whatever method determined by the national office. Members who have 50 years of membership in the National Association of Letter
Carriers shall be exempt from all dues. Retired members' dues of each Branch affiliated with this Association shall be ten cents
($.10) per month, one dollar and twenty cents ($1.20) per annum, payable monthly and shall be deducted by the NALC National Secretary-Treasurer and it will be reimbursed to the Ohio State Association
or whatever method determined by the national office.
Once again I encourage everyone to attend a State Convention. Its a learning experience!
