I'm not sure how many members check out the website, but for those of you that took the extra time to sign the Guestbook I thank you.

Some things that I have added to the website over the past month or so are:

1) The 2002 bid schedule

2) The seniority rosters (read more below)

3) Each months branch meeting minutes

4) Postal related news (almost daily)

5) 2001 State Convention notes and pics

I hope that everyone has at least checked out www.nalc-branch78.org at least once in the past 6 months. I've been putting on new stuff weekly. The latest endeavor was the addition of both the regular and PTF seniority rosters. I could use as much help as possible with the regular seniority roster with people retiring and such. So, if anyone could e-mail me when someone retires I'll make the changes and post a new roster each month. Please e-mail me at trevor@nalc-branch78.org.

Once again I'm putting the word out to see if anyone can help in finding out about the history of the branch. This would include but not limited to: 1) past officers (and terms?), 2) pictures, and 3) any memorabilia. If any of the branch officers and/or stewards would like an e-mail address through the branch please let me know. Also, if any officer or steward would like to have their e-mail address linked with their name on the Officer & Steward page please let me know and I will do that.

To all of you article writers out there, I'd like to post any past and future articles on the website as well. I will only post them however AFTER they have been published in our branch bulletin. If you have any past articles sitting around, e-mail them to me at trevor@nalc-branch78.org.

That should do it for website related news.

Now onto something different.

The last article I wrote concerned the future of the Post Office. I was expecting to receive a influx of e-mail (both good and bad). I received probably three messages on the subject, either no-one really cared or I hit the nail on the head. I sincerely hope it was the latter.

Another topic which should be brought to everyone. s attention is working off the clock.

As many of you do your jobs professionally everyday, I'm sure you see someone working off the clock. They're just trying to save a minute here, another minute there. So there isn't any confusion the National Contract states under Article 41. Sec. 3k "Supervisors shall not require, nor permit, employees to work off the clock."

When a carrier, either regular or PTF, work off the clock, they are setting themselves up for a potential problem. The most prevalent example I can think of is coming in off the street, ending tour, THEN going to unload your vehicle. If you were to get injured, what action would you face? Discipline more than likely. What rights would you have? Can the Union help in my defense?

If those people who want to "save a minute" want to "save their job", please don't work off the clock. Your hurting yourself and fellow carriers.
