It’s been a long time since I’ve last written an article so
this one may be a little longer than usual.
To start off, I’d like to thank the Membership for sending me to the
NALC National Convention in
I was fortunate enough to attend this years Retirement Dinner. I had a good time. The food was good and the company was excellent. It was neat looking around the room at all of the retiree’s. I was only able to meet a couple of them but I’m hoping to meet all of them in the future. And speaking of retiree’s, I’m still working on the Branch History section of the website. I heard that a few past Branch presidents were at the Retirement Dinner. I’d like to get a listing of past Branch Officers and their terms if possible. If any retiree has any information (past bulletins, remember when) on the Officers and terms I’d love to have it. I’ll piece it all together.
I would like to take a quick few minutes to update everyone on the status of the Branch website (www.nalc-branch78.org). The redesign is coming along nicely. The look will be much cleaner and more professional. I hope that everyone has had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at what in store!
My goal is to have everything done by the end of September or first of October. A lot has been added which will make the site more appealing to everyone. As always, I’m asking for input about the site. This is YOUR WEBSITE. I’d like to receive more past written articles, pictures, and anything else you, the Membership, can think of. I’m not sure if I mentioned this or not but ALL Branch Officers and Stewards have email through the website. You’ll be able to access this from the website itself. This will give each of them the ability to access their email from anywhere in the world.
Update: By the time you read this the new site layout will be completed. I encourage each of you to check it out and let me know what you think.
