February Branch Meeting

Communications from Chris Price.  There were 6 applications for membership.  Ron Santavicca read the bills list.

 

Bob Solt:  Training will be on FMLA and RMD instead of OWCP.

 

Law:  Dick Rappaport, nothing submitted, no report.

 

Retirees: no report.

 

Health Benefits:  No report.  Question regarding issuing of new cards.  Use sign up until card received.

 

Public Relations:  Golf outing June 1 for MDA at St. Albans

 

Safety & Health:  Tony Snyder – 3” snow required for chain use.  Looking for other options as chains have caused multiple problems.  Turn in 1767’s.  Need agenda items by 3rd Wednesday of the month.  Problems with not having supervisor or manager available.

 

Social Rec: no report

 

Treasurers Report:  Read by Bill Pagano.  John Billman questioned about being over budget.

 

RAA Doug Gulley:  Training schedule at the Ramada Inn on Sinclair Rd on with OWCP, FMLA or RMD.  Shared services was not a good move for carriers.  Reviewing joint route inspections in an attempt to revamp the process.

 

Unfinished business:  Route inspections scheduled for the 5 stations scheduled to move to Main Office because of travel times.  Central Point, Tri Village, Mt. Vernon, Olde Town and Station A.  Question on fate of Gahanna.  Suspended regular order of business for the election committee to report count for Delegate ballots.  329 returned.  Ron Shinoskie read results.  Discussion returned to route inspections and special inspections.  Question regarding ramps being put in at MO and steep incline. Supposedly no hampers or nutting trucks will use said ramps.

 

New business:  Trevor Payne discussed parking at Beechwold.  Carl Demko made a motion to purchase a NASCAR jacket for no more than $300, have it autographed and raffle off with proceeds to One New Toy.  Motion passed, Fred Smith secured jacket and signature.  Ron Santavicca made a motion to be corporate sponsor for Earth Angels Cruise-In program for $250.  Motion passed.

 

Bob Solt made a motion to purchase a table at George Meany award dinner for $400, March 26th at Villa Milano, motion passed.

Tom Wilson made a motion to spend $500 for each of 3 homeless shelters, to purchase hats, gloves, underwear, socks, toiletries and bedding.  Motion passed.

Jackie Mitchell made a motion to purchase Leap Frog pads for the Linville Lighthouse Teen Center at a cost of $1000 for ten units, motion passed.

Question raised about counting ADVO flats, estimate and complete 3996.

Discussion on charitable spending.  A committee will likely be formed to review requests in the future.

 

Motion to adjourn, $38 COLCPE won by Todd Horniak who donated back $25.
