Call to Order.  C. Sharp  6:34 P.M.

Invocation.  Bill Zimmerman.

Pledge.  Howard Jarvis.

 

6:40 PM.  Regular order of business suspended.  Pres. sharp introduced Dave Caldwell, Vice President AFL-CIO and member of the Central Ohio Labor council.  Importance of staying active on the Political front even though there is not a friendly administration State wide or Nationally.  Labor must stick together to have any shot at weathering the attacks which are already surfacing. 

 

7:00 PM.  Resumed regular order of business. 

 

I.              Minutes of October Branch Meeting.  J. LeVally.  Approved as amended.

 

II.             Secretary Reports.  R. Santavicca.

  1.           Communications.  Thank you from Bill Cooke for support during National elections.

  2.           Bills List.  Trustees have approved.  No questions, Bills are paid.

  3.           Applications for Membership.  Kenneth Anderson.  (one)  Approved.

 

III.            Reports of Standing committees.

 

  1.           Education.  R. Evangelista.  Stewards appreciation dinner December 4th.

 

  2            Law.  r. Rapenport.  Nothing submitted.  No report.

 

  3.           Retiree. Absent.  The Passing of George Bonner was acknowledged.  Long-time Branch 78           member and supporter.  Jack Welch would like to hear from the members.

 

  4.           Health Benefits.  R. Kirk.  Open Season end December 9th.  We have a great plan administered

                by your Union. 

 

  5.           Public Relations.  R. Solt.  No report.

 

  6.           Safety Health.  T. Snyder.  Make sure Stations have winter equipment.  It may not be safe to

                deliver the mail after dark.  Only you can make that decision.

 

  7.           Social Recreation.  Y. Miller.  Skating party December 7 and December 8th.  1:00 to 4:00 PM. 

                $4.00 for everything.  1st I50 children FREE.  In-lines skates are 1.00 extra. 

 

                One New Toy.  Eastland had $502.00 donation.  Don’t forget to shop at Zany Brainy.  take                coupon from Bulletin. 

 

IV.            Treasurer Report.  B. Pagano  No Questions.

 

V.             NBA Regional Assistant.  D. Gulley.  Bill Cooke Has been reelected.  Keep ontop of Legislation.

                Labor issues will more than likely be placed on the back burner because of the Republican

                controlled legislatures.

 

VI.            Unfinished Business.  None

 

VII.           New Business. 

  1.           E. Stewart.  Motion: to place ad in the Officer Phil Program at a cost of $199.00. Second

                B. Pagano.  Passes without objection.

  2.           Y. Miller.  Motion : to donate $200.00 to the AFL New Toy Program.  Second M. Holmes.

  3.           Training for new Stewards is being planned for after the New Year.

  6.           T. Wilson.  Motion to allot $1000.00 from Branch 78 for The Branch 78 One New Toy

                Program Second, F. Smith.  Passed without objection.

 

VIII.          Good of the Association. 

 

  1.           Only 1/3 of the members voted in the National NALC election.  A very poor showing. 

 

  2.           Cathy Baer from Beechwold Sta. won the TV raffle

 

IX.            Improvement of the Service.  Nothing Submitted.
